On Day 12, I recovered the seats of our kitchen chairs. They were previously creme colored and now are black. This was an easy/cheap way to change up your kitchen chairs. So Day 12's photo is a before and after shot of the chairs. So excited to finally have clean chair seats!

On Day 13, I noticed Miley sitting on the steps and her little fat rolls on her legs. How cute is that?!? Is this why the vet tells me she is over weight every time she goes to the vet?
Picture
Today, on Day 14, I went from blonde hair to brown hair. It's kinda weird but I like it so far. My hair stylist says it will fade fast but that's ok. It's always nice to have a change.

Over the Holidays, I decided to try making Cake Pops, which are basically cake crumbs mixed with icing, rolled into balls and covered in chocolate. If you want the recipe for these, check out Bakerella. She has tons of creative cake pops you can make. She also has a book on cake pops. So my first try was snowmen cake balls. I used candy coated sunflower seeds for the nose. Mini Reese's Pieces for the eyes, and an edible pen for the mouth. For the hat, I used a bell shaped Reese's peanut butter cup and dipped in chocolate (the kind that dries fast). Check out my first cake balls below!

Next, I have a few cakes I made. The first is a present shaped cake I made for Christmas Eve. I ran out of time to finish it but it still looks okay. My in-laws loved eating it so that's good!

Then, I made a flower themed cake for sister's 24th Birthday and a Notre Dame themed cake for my Dad's Birthday. I used fondant for the decorations on the cake. These chocolate fudge cakes were sooo delicious and all from scratch. The icing was chocolate fudge icing instead of the normal buttercream icing. Yum yum!

Hope all these cakes didn't make you too hungry!

Yesterday, we had a huge snowstorm that brought 6 to 8 inches of snow. Wow! I did have to venture out in the storm for a little bit but got home safely! Thank goodness. So Day 10's image is a snowy tree in our front yard. I used a dreamy processing on this photo. I love it!

I decided to start a new workout program. It's called Turbo Fire which is intense cardio conditioning. You can buy the set of DVDs from Beachbody. Chalene Johnson is the founder of this program and I love her. I have also used her Turbo Jam workout videos for several years. I would definitely recommend any of these products. My copy of Turbo Fire is Day 11's photo of the day!

I came across an interesting article about getting your layouts published in magazines. Make sure you check it out. I recently entered a layout to a Creating Keepsakes call and haven't heard anything yet :( I really wish I had seen this article before. However, I did get my Cutie Pie layout published in the Gingerscrap Street Magazine which was exciting.   Also be sure to check out the Lollipop Press Blog Hop, which starts January 16, 2011.  Each blog will have one an item to download for FREE! You must visit each blog to collect the elements for a whole kit. Yay!

On another note. Here is a layout I made of me and my sweetie! These are images from our engagement session in 2009. I have never scrapped these photos before, so it was exciting to get to use these in a Valentine's day layout.

Credits: Heart paper by me, Erin Leigh Designs. The other elements are by Aja Abney, Pixelworks, and a few others that I could not find their names..sorry.

If you like the heart paper I made. Feel free to download it HERE for free. Remember it is for Personal Use Only. Enjoy and see you back here later this week for the Lollipop Press Blog hop!

We woke up this morning with snow on the ground. It's been so weird not having a ton of snow this winter..at least not yet. It's really only snowed maybe once before today and it wasn't a ton. We are expecting a big snowstorm tonight and maybe more snow until Tuesday. In a way I missed the snow, but on the other hand I don't love driving in the snow. If you know me, I don't have a great record of driving in the snow. Too many wrecks :( On a happier note, I went outside with Miley & Cooper and snapped a few photos of them playing with their new friend, Wicket. Here's to hoping the snow storm doesn't end up too bad.

After a long day of cleaning, I decided a healthy snack was in order. I cut myself up an Granny Smith green apple. Yum! This sure goes better with my diet than candy :) I also added a texture to this image. I think it worked wonderfully!

I could not decide which image I liked better of my dog, Miley. She does this head tilt that I love. Usually, if i say "dog park "she tilts her head as if she's . Its adorable. The second picture, she just looks so cute ad innocent. So today I have two photos of my furbaby, Miley! Love you Moo Moo!
