If you like to decorate cakes then you have probably heard of the newest thing..the Cricut Cake Cutter. It cuts fondant shapes for you. There is a similar cutter out there for paper and now they have come out with this one for fondant. I would LOVE love love to get one of these. It is super expensive so I want to WIN one! Ever since I took up photography, I have wanted to try adding some textures to the pictures. Well I finally did it! I used a ruffed up texture with a flower picture I took for my photography class. Check out the original versus the texture and the blending type. They all look pretty cool in my eyes.  Can't wait to try some more textures in Photoshop.

We had a party for Miley's first birthday. I made Peanut Butter Delight cupcakes for the dogs. It had carrots and peanut butter in it with a cottage cheese frosting. All of the dogs loved them. The kids even thought about trying them...haha. That would have been funny to see. I made mini cupcakes for the other dogs and a regular sized cupcake for Miley. Oh boy did they devour them. It was so fun to see all of the dogs play in our newly fenced backyard! Here are a few of my favorite pictures!

I have been contemplating upgrading my site to a full domain. However, who knew there were so many Erin Leigh's out there. Why oh why did my parents name me such a common name. So note to myself to not name my kid a common name..well when I have kids. (No I'm not pregnant though my mom wishes I was). I don't want to use my married name in the domain because well those that know me personally know it isn't the easiest name to say. So I feel that would make it harder to find my website. I am currently trying to figure out how to start my own business. I have a full time job that I'm not a huge fan of. I went to grad school and now I am almost regretting my occupation. I wish I would have went to school for graphic design, marketing or something of that nature. I have most recently discovered my love for creating things, whether it be digitally, on paper, in photos or on cakes. I think it would be amazing to work for myself and do something I enjoy rather than sit at a desk all day being miserable. If only money grew on trees or if I could win the lottery, I could do this..haha :) Speaking of the lottery, I should go buy some tickets. It's up to $200 million or so in Kansas. So for now I get to work full time and start working towards my future goal. 

I am also enjoying posting on social network sites...aka facebook, forums, blogs, etc. So maybe this is a direction to go for a job??  First, I need to decide what my business will be. I have debated between just digital scrapbook designing and digital designing in general. Then I could design other things such as invitations, photo books, and cards. I did design my own wedding invitations, which turned out pretty well I have to say. Then there is what will I name my business. I was thinking Erin Leigh Designs but google has showed me there are already businesses of the same name. So I have to think and be more creative on a name.  So much to do and so little time....

Last week we traded in the Mazda 3 for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is so nice having a spacious vehicle. We were able to travel to Wichita with all the dog stuff and other various things I needed to take back to my parents. This weekend it came in handy with our 2 hour trip to home depot, where we came back with lots of flowers, sod, potting soil, a wheel barrel and more. Before, we had to borrow Erik's father's SUV so I'm pretty sure he was really happy about our new purchase. I took a few pictures of our pretty new Jeep. It is decked out in leather seats, heated seats, separate air controls (which I love since I'm always cold), a 6-disc CD changer, etc. Unfortunately, I got to keep my Mitsubishi Galant since it will be paid off in a year. Just think how much I can buy with that car payment money! I can't wait!

Today is Miley's 1st Birthday. She is a grown up now..haha. She's still my baby puppy. We are having a Birthday Party for her on Saturday so I made invitations and invited friends and their dogs. Here is the invite. I'll post pictures from the event next week!
