The past few weeks have been a bit crazy and hectic but FUN. I had my first photo shoot with my sister and her boyfriend. If you have not seen the awesome pictures click here. I also started Jessica Sprague's Art of Digital Design Class. It is sooo fun. I'm learning a ton and can't wait to get home from work each night to work on an assignment and watch her videos.  By the end of the five week class I will have an entire kit ready to go and to sell. So look out for that!  She also has a ton of other amazing classes so check out her website here.

Last weekend was fun filled with a trip to Chicago to the Cubs vs. Cardinals game and for my sister-in-law's baby shower. I also made the cake, some cupcake toppers and candy labels...all giraffe themed which is what the baby's room looks like. The cake took oh 8 hrs to make but it turned out great and it was a big hit. It can be seen here. My other sister-in-law and I also made a diaper cake which turned out great too! Those are a lot of fun to make as well and not as messy as real cakes :)
The cute giraffe bedding was the inspiration behind the cake.
The cute giraffe cake for my sister in law's baby shower.
The adorable diaper cake we made.
I also did another photo shoot with my friend Trish. The sneak peak can be seen here.

Since I was out of town last weekend, I have a TON to catch up on. I plan to catch up on my Digital Design Class and finish editing all the photos from the shoot. Hopefully, I'll get them posted by Sunday or Monday for all to see! Can't wait! Oh and I also took pictures at the baby shower so I need to edit those and get them posted! I also plan to work on some more invitation designs. Soo much to do and so little time.

Also next week is busy with an exciting meeting I have... can't wait and hope things work out! I hope to have some exciting news but more on this later.

This weekend is also full of fun. A triple date on Friday with dinner and drinks and a white trash couple's wedding shower tomorrow. Also lunch with mom today! yay!

Hope everyone has a great weekend as well!
I have been contemplating upgrading my site to a full domain. However, who knew there were so many Erin Leigh's out there. Why oh why did my parents name me such a common name. So note to myself to not name my kid a common name..well when I have kids. (No I'm not pregnant though my mom wishes I was). I don't want to use my married name in the domain because well those that know me personally know it isn't the easiest name to say. So I feel that would make it harder to find my website. I am currently trying to figure out how to start my own business. I have a full time job that I'm not a huge fan of. I went to grad school and now I am almost regretting my occupation. I wish I would have went to school for graphic design, marketing or something of that nature. I have most recently discovered my love for creating things, whether it be digitally, on paper, in photos or on cakes. I think it would be amazing to work for myself and do something I enjoy rather than sit at a desk all day being miserable. If only money grew on trees or if I could win the lottery, I could do this..haha :) Speaking of the lottery, I should go buy some tickets. It's up to $200 million or so in Kansas. So for now I get to work full time and start working towards my future goal.

I am also enjoying posting on social network sites...aka facebook, forums, blogs, etc. So maybe this is a direction to go for a job??  First, I need to decide what my business will be. I have debated between just digital scrapbook designing and digital designing in general. Then I could design other things such as invitations, photo books, and cards. I did design my own wedding invitations, which turned out pretty well I have to say. Then there is what will I name my business. I was thinking Erin Leigh Designs but google has showed me there are already businesses of the same name. So I have to think and be more creative on a name.  So much to do and so little time....
Last week we traded in the Mazda 3 for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is so nice having a spacious vehicle. We were able to travel to Wichita with all the dog stuff and other various things I needed to take back to my parents. This weekend it came in handy with our 2 hour trip to home depot, where we came back with lots of flowers, sod, potting soil, a wheel barrel and more. Before, we had to borrow Erik's father's SUV so I'm pretty sure he was really happy about our new purchase. I took a few pictures of our pretty new Jeep. It is decked out in leather seats, heated seats, separate air controls (which I love since I'm always cold), a 6-disc CD changer, etc. Unfortunately, I got to keep my Mitsubishi Galant since it will be paid off in a year. Just think how much I can buy with that car payment money! I can't wait!

I've been contemplating my current life and activities. I feel like there are so many things I want to do yet not enough time. Working full-time and driving 45-50 minutes each way takes away so much time from other things I would like to be doing.  I spend way too much time commuting...7.5 hours a week or so meaning I will waste almost 400 hours of my life in my car this year. That is really depressing and not fun. Luckily, the morning shows help get me through it but I don't like it. By the time I get home, I am exhausted and don't want to cook dinner, workout or anything. I just want to lay on the couch and watch tv, especially in the winter. And during the winter all I want to do is eat, especially yummy desserts...which is not a good thing.

I want to read more, run a half marathon, start a business, make more money, enjoy my job and much more. Trying to figure out how to do these things is tough.
