This past weekend I did a mini photo shoot with my cousin's1 year old daughter, Emma. Isn't she adorable with her little grin and striped bow.  Here's a little sneak peak of the portrait session we did in Mooresville, Indiana's park.

Thanks for being such an adorable model Emma!

I tried photographing Fireworks for the first time with my DSLR last night. I forgot my tripod so I tried to hold the camera as steady as I could. I learned the fireworks technique from the Basic Photography class at PhotographX in north Kansas City. I used the BULB setting as the shutter speed and an aperture of f14. The BULB setting allows the shutter to stay open as long as you hold down the shutter  button. I liked getting more than one firework in a shot. A good article on shooting fireworks can be found here at  Digital Photography School. Here's a few that turned out pretty good.

Just got a new camera lense. It's a prime lense (If you don't know the difference b/w a prime lense and zoom lense, go here for more information). I bought a Canon 50mm f1.8, which is supposed to be great for portraiture. I've only had a chance to use it on my dogs. Here's a few pics with my new lense!

Today, I had the pleasure of doing a portrait session with an adorable 6 month old girl named Olivia. She did great especially during the first 30 minutes. She was happy and silly. Near the end of the photo shoot she was getting a little tired. Overall, it was a fun shoot. I also got a few pictures with mommy and daddy. Thanks for being such great models! So here's your sneak peak! Enjoy!

Recently, I have decided to start building up my photography portfolio. I enjoy learning photography and there is so much to it. I never thought about how much goes into creating amazing pictures until now. I'm hoping to open my own photography business in the future. So please help me out! If you know of any second shooter jobs or need a second shooter for weddings, PLEASE PLEASE contact me. You can find pictures on my blog. Also if you want to be my model and get some free pictures taken let me know as well! I enjoy photographing all types of people, families, couples, kids, babies! Thank you so much for your help!

I have contacted a few other photographers and hoping something will work out so I can help shoot a wedding with one of them soon! I'm super excited about all of this and thanks for the support my fellow bloggers!

One of my favorite pictures from a recent shoot. I really like the vintage/antique look on photos.

Tonight I had a photo shoot with my good friend Trish and her boyfriend, Dan. Trish's dog, Pete, also came along for some pictures too. We walked around downtown Overland Park for some fun pictures! There was so many good places for pictures it was so hard to decide. I'd love to go back to this venue for more photos sometime. Here is a sneak peak of the photos. Hope you enjoy them!

This was a fun picture to get. They had to wait till traffic wasn't coming and run out there and dip. The best photos were on the third try :)

It was also funny when a car drove by and the people honked the horn.

On Sunday, I took photos of my sister and her boyfriend Matt. We went to Downtown Lenexa by the train tracks and few old buildings. My favorite part was when a cyclist went by and yells out, "Congrats on the Engagement". I just laughed while Matt asks what? I said oh nothing. So here a few pictures of the day! Enjoy!

Isn't my sister so photogenic?

I think during this pose/shot, they started yelling at me to hurry up because a train was coming. I thought they were joking. Nope they weren't, a train really was coming. At least we got a few good pictures before hand.

Way to go Matt! Thanks for not making a funny face in at least one picture :)
