We got our new puppy on Christmas Eve. We picked him up from the Safe Harbor office in Basehor, KS. The roads were already slick when we were driving there. Luckily, Erik was driving since we all know my track record with wrecks.  We got there and another family was there adopting Cooper's brother. I was so happy to hear that he was getting a good home too.  The little girl named the brother Bow..how cute is that. I gave them my email so they could send us updates of the little brother and maybe Cooper and Bow could meet again.

So far Cooper is awesome. He's the sweetest puppy. He listens pretty well for only being 3 months or so.  He's an angel compared to Miley. Miley used to try to bite us all the time. He has yet to try to bite us other than our ankles..which has only happened twice.  He is mostly potty trained but when we send him outside he squats and pees on our deck.  Hopefully, after all the snow is gone he'll stop peeing on the deck and go in the grass.

Miley seems to get along with Cooper for the most part. At first we got mad at her for knocking him over but then he started fighting back by biting her ears, lips and tail. Cooper has sharp, tiny teeth too. So now we just let them fight it out. We think Miley is a little jealous of Cooper, esp. with my attention. She seems to get more mad at me for playing with him. He's just a very happy, affectionate puppy. He's always wagging his tail.  Ahh I just love my furbabies so much. Can't wait to have a real baby too :)

I'm really starting to get into designing cards and things. I did design my own wedding invitation. It was a pain but worth it. Our Christmas card was pretty easy. It's a template from Smilebox. However, you can do your customization by putting it into Photoshop or InDesign.  I also created a recipe card for our cookie swap. Again it was from Smile box and then I added a few things. Check them out.

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just a few days away. I'm looking forward to it more than ever.  Not only is it our first Christmas as a married couple, but we are adding a new family member. We are getting another puppy on Christmas Eve. We are very excited about giving Miley a little brother. However, we are a little worried they won't get along. We met the little guy last week and so did Miley. She scared him at first but after 30 minutes or so he started warming up to her. So hopefully they'll be life long friends. He probably weighs 10 lbs and is about 3 months old. He is a beagle mix. We can't figure out what he is mixed with. We are thinking maybe a terrier or lab but who knows. The little guy was originally going to the gas chamber before Safe Harbor saved him. Thank goodness. He is adorable. His brother is cute too! Hopefully, someone adopts him as well. Check him out below. Will post new pics once we get him on Thursday!

I've been contemplating my current life and activities. I feel like there are so many things I want to do yet not enough time. Working full-time and driving 45-50 minutes each way takes away so much time from other things I would like to be doing.  I spend way too much time commuting...7.5 hours a week or so meaning I will waste almost 400 hours of my life in my car this year. That is really depressing and not fun. Luckily, the morning shows help get me through it but I don't like it. By the time I get home, I am exhausted and don't want to cook dinner, workout or anything. I just want to lay on the couch and watch tv, especially in the winter. And during the winter all I want to do is eat, especially yummy desserts...which is not a good thing.

I want to read more, run a half marathon, start a business, make more money, enjoy my job and much more. Trying to figure out how to do these things is tough.

I started taking a cake decorating class at Michaels and so far I love it. I have learned a lot so far. It's so fun and neat. See some of my cakes below. I am hoping to get good enough to sell wedding cakes on the side. I think it'd be fun and a good way to make a little extra money doing something I love. Otherwise, it'll be great to know how to make fun cakes for friends, family and my future kids :)
