The other day I played around with Back Button Focusing, which is basically where you change the focus button to a back button rather than being on the shutter button. For information on Back Button Focus for Canons visit this site.  I learned about this from www.ClickinMoms.com, which is an awesome site. I've been having trouble locking my focus, so the ladies on there suggested to try this. I'm still getting used to it but need to try it out on a human being. My only issue is trying not to move my camera a little after I hit the back button and then pushing down the shutter button. Otherwise, I get some blur which I do not want of course. I want sharp pictures! I took pictures of my dogs yesterday using it. Cooper was an amazing model for me. Miley not so much. She just wanted to play and sniff the back yard. All of these were taken in Manual mode with an aperture of 2.5 and a shutter speed of 1/80 sec and an ISO of 200.  I also used custom white balance but feel like it wasn't accurate enough. So I had to lighten these up a bit in Photoshop because they came out a little dark SOOC. Here are a few of my favorites.

Cooper is so proper. Laying in the grass is one of his favorite things to do.

We had a party for Miley's first birthday. I made Peanut Butter Delight cupcakes for the dogs. It had carrots and peanut butter in it with a cottage cheese frosting. All of the dogs loved them. The kids even thought about trying them...haha. That would have been funny to see. I made mini cupcakes for the other dogs and a regular sized cupcake for Miley. Oh boy did they devour them. It was so fun to see all of the dogs play in our newly fenced backyard! Here are a few of my favorite pictures!

Today is Miley's 1st Birthday. She is a grown up now..haha. She's still my baby puppy. We are having a Birthday Party for her on Saturday so I made invitations and invited friends and their dogs. Here is the invite. I'll post pictures from the event next week!

My sister just got a new puggle puppy and named her Jalapeno. What a hilarious name don't you think. She brought her over for a play date with my dogs in our newly fenced in backyard. Jalapeno or Hallie for short looks so tiny compared to my dogs. The three of them had a great time playing. It was so cute!

We got our new puppy on Christmas Eve. We picked him up from the Safe Harbor office in Basehor, KS. The roads were already slick when we were driving there. Luckily, Erik was driving since we all know my track record with wrecks.  We got there and another family was there adopting Cooper's brother. I was so happy to hear that he was getting a good home too.  The little girl named the brother Bow..how cute is that. I gave them my email so they could send us updates of the little brother and maybe Cooper and Bow could meet again.

So far Cooper is awesome. He's the sweetest puppy. He listens pretty well for only being 3 months or so.  He's an angel compared to Miley. Miley used to try to bite us all the time. He has yet to try to bite us other than our ankles..which has only happened twice.  He is mostly potty trained but when we send him outside he squats and pees on our deck.  Hopefully, after all the snow is gone he'll stop peeing on the deck and go in the grass.

Miley seems to get along with Cooper for the most part. At first we got mad at her for knocking him over but then he started fighting back by biting her ears, lips and tail. Cooper has sharp, tiny teeth too. So now we just let them fight it out. We think Miley is a little jealous of Cooper, esp. with my attention. She seems to get more mad at me for playing with him. He's just a very happy, affectionate puppy. He's always wagging his tail.  Ahh I just love my furbabies so much. Can't wait to have a real baby too :)
